Scholarships: Ernst & Young Foundation

We are pleased to express our appreciation to the Ernst & Young Foundation for their recent gift to the Department of Accounting of $20,000 in scholarship funds for students enrolled in our Master of Accounting program. These funds will be distributed as $5,000 awards to four students entering our Master of Accounting program who best meet the following criteria:
- B.S.B.A. from University of Arizona with accounting major
- Demonstrated commitment to or interest in issues affecting underrepresented communities **
- Cumulative and major GPA >= 3.3 on 4.0 scale
- GMAT score acceptable for admission to the Master of Accounting program and completion of online application to the program
- Professional development evidenced by strong communication skills and extracurricular leadership
**Commitment to or interest in issues affecting underrepresented communities may be demonstrated by, but is not limited to, participation in Ernst & Young’s Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP), INROADS Student Internship Program, Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting (ALPFA), Multicultural Business Students Association (MBSA), Hispanic Business Students Association (HBSA) or other similar student organizations and activities.
Students who meet these qualifications are encouraged to request consideration for the scholarship in their online applications to the MAcc program. The Department’s Scholarship Committee will identify qualified candidates for the scholarship from a list of Master of Accounting program applicants. These candidates will be asked to provide the following items for the Committee’s review: Resume, Unofficial Transcript, Completed Scholarship Application and Faculty Recommendation Letter
Ernst & Young will be represented on an advisory committee reviewing the scholarship applicants. The final decision will be made by the Accounting Department Scholarship Committee after consultation with the MAcc Admissions Committee.

Return it with the additional materials noted on the form to the Department of Accounting Graduate Programs Director.
